DRIVING INSTRUCTOR Training REQUIREMENTS
Before starting your driving instructor training, you must obtain a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) through the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency’s (DVSA) contractor, Capita Recruitment Vetting Service (CRVS).
An applicant must pass three rigorous ADI tests before becoming a driving instructor. In the SDS Driving School’s driving instructor training course, you will be provided with all the material and knowledge you will need to pass these tests and become a driving instructor.
You must have held a full licence for three years (a foreign or automatic licence can count towards the three years).
You must be able to read a vehicle number plate from a distance of 27.5m (90 feet).
Generally, penalty points on your licence (usually four) will not affect your application, and you will not be penalised for those already spent.
In the last four years, you cannot have been disqualified from driving.
Driving instructor training with SDS Driving School is as easy as…
You’ll have 40 hours of local 1-to-1 driving instructor training with an SDS Driving School Trainer who is registered with the DVSA’s Official Register of Driving Instructor Trainers (ORDIT). Your training program will be designed around your personal circumstances and commitments, giving you the flexibility to continue earning while you train.
As soon as you have qualified, you will have your choice of SDS franchise, you’ll be your own boss, you’ll be in charge of your own schedule and you will have access to marketing, branding and we’ll supply your pupils. You can expect to earn £800 per week or more depending on how many hours you decide to work.
Your franchise investment can be made in a variety of ways: upfront, pay as you go, or one of our payment plans. Talk to use about your personal circumstances and we’ll find the right option for you.
